B-mode ultrasound shows multiple hypo- and hyperechoic images, some with necrosis, with diameter up to 16 cm, with suggestive aspects of metastases. Classically, if there are multiple lesions, hepatic metastases are more probably (~98% of cases). Cystic hepatic metastases may arise from any source, but the differential diagnosis of the primary lesions should include: colon cancer, ovarian cystadenocarcinoma, squamous cell lung cancer, sarcomas, melanoma, gastrointestinal stromal tumor, pancreatic mucnious cystandeocarcinoma and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor.
